2026.6.19

• An option is now available for hiding the Customer Part Number field on FAIRs where your company is the Customer. This setting can be toggled through Company Setup -> First Articles Setup -> Preferences.
   
• The Part Serial Numbers field on the eSource Inspection Record form now allows entry of multiple serial numbers. This can be done by pressing the Enter key between entries, or by entering commas between a series of serial numbers.
   
• An Import option is now available on the Cause and Correction Actions setup page (Company Setup -> Quality Management Setup -> Cause and Corrective Actions).
   
• When configuring entry requirements for FAIR fields through the Field Formats setup page, multiple blocks (or sections) within a field can now be set up to have their own entry requirements.

2026.6.12

• The Supplier field in the Part Number Index section of FAIR Form 1 now provides search options for choosing previous field entries, or picking from among all accounts set up in Net-Inspect.
   
• A Bonus Tolerance calculator has been added to FAIR Form 3. It can be used to calculate the bonus tolerance of qualifying characteristics based on the results of a selected "Feature of Size".
   
• A Rolling Dynamic PPK chart has been added to the Control Charts page. It tracks the PPK of a feature at each measurement, based on a rolling 25-measurement sample.

2026.6.5

• The eSource section of Net-Inspect has been upgraded to a more modern software framework.
   
• A link to the Control Charts report has been added to the Record Measurements page, next to the Part Number field.
   
• Improvements have been made to the Form 2 Supplier field to provide better keyboard controls and visibility of options
   
• Multiple Part Requests can now be sent for a single part number, provided that a different PO Number is entered.

2026.5.29

• New options are now available for configuring DQEs (Designated Quality Engineers) for eSource suppliers. The option can now be toggled individually for each supplier, or for specific part numbers at each supplier.
  • An setting has also been provided for allowing non-DQEs to view (but not edit) eSource IRs.
     
• The Approve Conditionally buy-off option can now be hidden on FAIRs submitted to your company using a new setting on the First Articles Setup Preferences page.
   
• PDFs uploaded to an eTag are now included when printing if the "Documents" checkbox is marked
   
• When entering a new Due Date for a section on a Corrective Action Request (CAR) after it has been issued, you are now required to enter a comment as well. This comment is recorded in the section's history.

2026.5.22

• A Supplier Directory has been added to Net-Inspect's Supply Chain menu. This page can be used to search and view information about companies currently using Net-Inspect. Be sure to visit and provide information about your own company!
   
• The Supplier field on FAIR Form 2 is now fully searchable, and provides several categories of recommended entries.
   
• Companies can configure entry requirements for certain FAIR fields through the Field Formats setup page, located in the First Articles Setup section of the Company Setup page. These requirements are then enforced on all supplier FAIRs.
   
  • Up to three formats can be configured for each field. They can be either recommended or mandatory.
     
  • This feature will tie into an upcoming OCR capability which will be used to validate field entries against attachments (such as drawings and purchase orders) uploaded to the FAIR.
     
• The Control Charts page now automatically shows new measurements entered on the Record Measurements page.
   
• The Additional Fields setup page, used to configure default "Field 12" columns for FAIR Form 3, now provides the option to link each field to a Data Type: either Measurement Tools or Users. This provides a searchable drop-down list (of Tools or Users, respectively) in each field.
   
• If settings are enabled in your account for making Programs, Divisions, or Platforms mandatory when adding a part, then these fields will now also be mandatory before reactivating a removed part.
   

2026.5.15

• Drag-and-drop capability has been added to the Part Number Index table on Form 1.
   
• Mean and Median columns have been added to the Inspection Report (located on the Quality Management Reports page), as well as the reports exportable from the Record Measurements page.

• The Control Charts report, located on the Quality Management Reports page, has several new enhancements.
   
  • A Card Size slider has been added, allowing greater control over the size of the control charts shown on the page. More control charts can now be shown on the screen at once.
     
  • An Adjust Centerline option is available for visualizing a chart's measurements as if the centerline were at the nominal, and adjusting SPC values accordingly.

2026.5.8

• The Control Charts report, located on the Quality Management Reports page, has several new enhancements.

• Measurements can now be deleted while using the "Modify Results" option on the Record Measurements page. Only Setup Administrators have access to this capability by default.
   
• When adding a Customer through the Customers setup page on the Supply Chain menu, an option is now provided for aligning users with that customer's programs in bulk. 
   
  • This option is also available for each existing customer through a drop-down menu on the far right of the Customers list.
     
• A PSW option has been added to the Global Search feature, which can be opened by clicking the magnifying glass icon on the main menu.
   
• A new setting has been added to the First Article Preferences page: Do not apply customer workflow on delegated FAIRs. If enabled, then when a FAIR is submitted to your company and is assigned the "Delegated" approval status, a customer workflow is not automatically assigned to it.

2026.5.1

• Multiple Process Change documents can now be uploaded to a measurement through a Control Chart /SPC Chart.
   
• A specific Customer Workflow can now be assigned to a supplier through the "Customer-Provided Details" of the Suppliers page (located on the Supply Chain menu).
   
  • Separate Customer Workflows can also be configured for a supplier by each of your company's divisions. 
     
• Fields are now available for specifying a Serial Number and Discrepancy Description when creating an eTag through the Tools button on the Record Measurements page.
   
• A Specification Format checkbox has been added to the Discrepancies section of the Request form. If marked, the user is able to enter the Specification of a characteristic in more detail.
   
• A setting is now available on the Inspection Preferences menu (located in the Quality Management Setup section of the Company Setup page) for disabling the options for recalculate control limits after selecting a measurement on a Control Chart / SPC Chart.
   
• Separate options are now available on the Access Control User Management page for providing access to update the Programs, Divisions, and Jurisdictions/Classifications assigned to a part number.
   
  • Previously all of these fields were controlled by a single access control access permission.

2026.4.23

• Users can now create an eTag on the Record Measurements page without first entering an out-of-tolerance measurement. This option is available through the page's Tools button. 
   

2026.4.17

• A Sample Data section has been added to the Control Charts page. This section provides CP, CPK, and other SPC data calculations for the data currently showing on the chart, which can be changed using the page's filters.
   
• When viewing a feature's Control Chart / SPC Chart, an option is now available for recalculating a feature's control limits based either on the 25 measurements previous to the selected point, or after the selected point.
   
  • The measurement points used to calculate control limits are now highlighted.

2026.4.10

• Documents uploaded anywhere on a FAIR can now be linked to (or unlinked from) specific fields.
   
  • A single document can be displayed in multiple locations on a FAIR this way. For instance, a single process cert can be linked to multiple rows on Form 2.
     
• A new page is available on the CAR menu: View All Actions. It provides a list of each action entered in the D3 or D5 section of your company's CARs.
   
• A Process Change can now be recorded or uploaded for a measurement through any Control Chart. This marks the measurement on the chart, making it easier to locate implementations of process improvements.
   
• A new option is available on the Company Setup "Inspection Preferences" page, located on the Quality Management Setup menu: Display warning when entering a duplicate serial number for a part. If enabled, then if you enter a serial number that has been entered before on another run for the same part number, a warning will appear.

• Net-Inspect's Global Search feature, available through the magnifying glass icon on the main menu, has been enhanced to provide more search options and show more types of records.
   
• The Freeform GD&T capability, available when populating a feature's GD&T Callout frame, now provides an option for including a callout frame.

• The Supply Chain feature has been released!

• A PPAPD record can now be created from Form 3 of any FAIR. This option can be found under the page's Tools button.

• When adding or updating Additional Columns through the Tools button on FAIR Form 3, a "Data Type" can now be selected. 
   
  • Selecting Tools allows selection of any of your company's active Tools in that column, and selecting Users provides the option to search for and select any active user.
     
• An Expand All option is now available on the Record Measurements page for showing the full Description of a feature, as well as its Sampling Plan

2026.2.13

• The Nonconformance Number field on FAIR Form 3 now provides the option to create or link to an eTag, CAR, or Request.
   
• Toast messages appearing in the bottom-right of the page, including success messages and errors, now have slightly different behavior:
  • Only three messages will appear at a time. Previously, Net-Inspect would attempt to show all messages at the same time, even if they exceeded the boundaries of the browser window.
  • Toast errors will not disappear automatically. Instead, they will disappear only upon repeating the action that prompted the error, or upon clicking the message.
     
• Three new Sampling Plans have been added: AQL General Inspection Level I, II, and III. These can be selected when creating a feature. See our Sampling Plans Zendesk article for more details.
   
• An Approval Comment field has been added to the "Complete and Review" section of the eSource Inspection Record form. It displays the comment provided when the IR was approved or conditionally approved by the customer, if any.
   
• A new Quality Management email notification has been added: Out of Control Measurement (Supplier)
  • If enabled, qualifying users will receive an email notification when a supplier enters any out-of-control-limits measurement, if the user's company is one of that part's customers.
  • By default, this notification will only occur for suppliers with which the user is aligned.
     

2026.2.6

• A Run Comments button has been added to the Record Measurements page. It allows comments to be added to a specific part and Run Number by operators.
  • When a comment is entered, it can be seen on any job/run having the same Part Number and Run Number.
     
• A new Quality Management email notification has been added: Out of Tolerance Measurement (Supplier)
  • If enabled, qualifying users will receive an email notification when a supplier enters any out-of-tolerance measurement, if the user's company is one of that part's customers.
  • By default, this notification will only occur for suppliers with which the user is aligned.
     
• When entering a numerical requirement for a characteristic or feature, leading zeroes are no longer automatically included. 
  • For example, entering a tolerance value of .5 will no longer result in a value of 0.5 being saved.
  • This is being done to improve adherence with ASME Y14.5, which specifies that measurements in inches should omit the leading zero.
     

2026.1.30

• A new FAIR setting is available in the FAIR Field Requirements section of the First Articles Setup menu on the Company Setup page: Require attached document for Drawing Number (Field 6). It can be toggled for either internal or supplier FAIRs.
  • If enabled, a drawing must be uploaded to the Drawing Number field on FAIR Form 1 in order for the FAIR to be submitted.
     
• A Corrective Action Request's (CAR's) Type -- internal, supplier, or customer -- is now shown at the top of the form, as well as on the form's printout.
   
• The Supplier Requests page now provides a link to each FAIR for which a "reset" has been requested.
   

2026.1.23

• An option is now available on the Calibration Report page for generating a calibration certificate for calibrated tools. This page can be accessed through the Tools menu.
   
• The FAIR Supplier Map page has been upgraded to a more modern software framework.
   
• A Measurement Real CPK column has been added to the Quality Management Measurement Report. It records the CPK associated with a feature at the moment each measurement was recorded.

• The Requests View All "list" page now includes columns for Custom Fields added to the "Additional Requirements" section of the form.
   
• When creating a new part through the Supplier Requests page, the selected Division (if any, and if the user has access to it) is carried over automatically.

• The Buyoff sidebar shown on Pending Buy-off FAIRs now shows all comments -- internal review comments, customer rejection comments, and supplier change comments -- regardless of which FAIR form the user is viewing.
  • Previously, the sidebar only showed comments associated with the form being viewed.
     
• A new FAIR setting is available in the First Article Preferences section of the Company Setup page: Require Linked FAIR or attached document on Partial FAIRs. It can be toggled for either internal or supplier FAIRs.

• The Quality Management Record Measurements grid has been upgraded to a more modern software framework.
  • The page's Export interface has been reworked. It now allows the creation of Custom Reports, which allow selected headers and columns to be saved and shared with other users.
• It's now possible to update the Operation Number or Machine associated with a job/run on the Record Measurements grid.
  • Operation Number cannot be updated if any measurements have already been recorded.
     
• Programs, Divisions, Jurisdictions & Classifications, and Platforms fields are now available on the Create a Part page. By default, users must have Setup Administrator permissions in order to use these fields (with the exception of Platforms).
  • These fields can be made mandatory using a new option available on the Programs, Divisions, Jurisdictions & Classifications, and Platforms setup menus, located on the Company Setup page.

If the FAIR is reopened after these comments are provided, then the user who signed Field 20 and the FAIR's assignee receive an email notification asking them to address the provided comments.
     
  • Once the comments are addressed and the FAIR is signed again, the reviewer can mark comments as "Resolved" and submit the FAIR as normal once the review process is finished.
     
• Fields 1-4 are now shown on each page of the FAIR printout to ensure traceability of each printed sheet.

• A new APQP security setting is now available. If enabled, all parts can be assigned to an "APQP/PPAP Document Control" program. Internal users must be aligned with this program in order to open online forms (such as PFDs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and FAIRs) attached to APQP items.

• Category and Sub-category fields have been added to the Description of Nonconformance section of the CAR form.
  • These fields are disabled by default, but can be enabled (and made mandatory) through the CAR Setup section of the Company Setup page.

• An option is now available for editing the Description of Nonconformity section of a CAR form. It can be used by the CAR's associated customer to update this section of an issued CAR after it is  started by the supplier.

• A Lot Number column is now available on the Inspection Report, available through the Reports section of the Quality Management menu. If enabled, then on downloaded reports showing multiple parts per page, each part's Lot Number will be shown at the top of each column.

• A Pending Effectiveness quick-filter has been added to the CAR "list" pages. When used, only CARs that are Closed but still require completion of the Effectiveness section will be shown.
   
• A Next Due Item column has been added to the CAR "list" pages. This column displays the name of the CAR section that will be next to come due.

• The character limit of the Source Record field on the CAR form has been raised to 100.
   
• The CAR form's Require 8D, Require Containment, and Require Evidence checkboxes have been moved to the left of the Issued By signature field, to encourage users to consider these options prior to issuance.
