Sampling Plans

The sampling plan assigned to a feature determines the frequency with which it must be measured while entering results on the Record Measurements page.

100% sampling is highly recommended for all critical features.

The SPC, AS13002 (major), and AS13002 (minor) sampling plans are recommended for Variable features. If selected, the feature's sampling frequency will be updated automatically based on its rolling Real Cpk value in addition to the lot size, making the most of the variable data provided for these features. Sampling frequency will be raised to 100% if an out-of-tolerance measurement is recorded.

Critical Characteristic: An attribute that if fails, could cause serious injury, damage, or harm
Major Characteristic: An attribute that if fails, could cause product failure
Minor Characteristic: An attribute that requires special inspection techniques

The AQL c = 0, AQL c = 0 (modified), and Stat Sampling Level X sampling plans are recommended for Attribute features. These sampling plans determine sampling frequency based on a run's lot size only. Sampling frequency will be raised to 100% if an out-of-tolerance or failed measurement is recorded on a feature assigned to an AQL sampling plan.
