Edit a Part
To Edit a part, navigate to Quality Management > Part & Feature Setup
Click a part row to edit a part. See Add a Part if you are adding a new part.
This page has two filters: internal and supplier. The internal list is all parts owned and managed by your company. The supplier list is all parts in which you are listed as a customer. You cannot edit any data associated with these parts.
Part Info
Part Number | Part number is not editable after creation. |
Part Name | Part Name is editable after creation. |
Remove Part | Select this checkbox to remove the part. The part will only appear in the "Removed Parts" page of the Part & Feature Setup. If your company has "Part-level Security" enabled, then it will not be possible to create new records (e.g., FAIRs) for this part number after it has been removed. |
CAGE Code | Commercial and Government Entity code associated with the facility responsible for the part. |
Material Type | Material from which the part is manufactured. Material options can be configured in Settings > Company Setup > Quality Management Setup > Materials. |
Platform | Product group or category to which the part belongs. |
Serialized | Filling this checkbox makes "Serial Number" a required field on the Measurement Entry Screen. |
MRB Authority | If checkbox is filled, "Use As Is" (or an equivalent disposition status) will be listed as one of the disposition status items on all E-Rejection Tags generated for the part. |
Product Safety | If "Yes", signifies that failure of the part would have a significant effect on the safety of the final product. |
Delegated FAIR Approval |
If enabled, Customer Approval of FAIRs with this part number will always be delegated to the supplier. |
Product Type Prime | Drop down for any product type classified as a "Prime" or "Prime + Attribute". |
Product Type 1st and 2nd Attribute |
Drop down for any product type classified as an "Attribute" or "Prime + Attribute". Neither can be selected without a prime and there is no validation restricting the reuse of a type across fields. |
Manufacturing Cost | Manufacturing cost of the part. |
Sales Price | Sales price of the part. |
Description | Part Description available for further details of the part. |
Revisions | Revision number for the part. |
Note: Workflows will be placed on the part depending on your company's workflow priority settings, found on the Company Preferences page.
Access Control
Customer Name | Customer that receives the part. Any company designated as a customer in your account can be can be selected from the drop down menu. Your customer list can be modified from the Your customer list can be modified in Settings > Company Setup > Customers. Customers selected on this page can use the Supply Chain module to view information related to the part. |
Customer Part Number | Part number used by the customer to identify this part. Entered after selecting a new customer for the part from the Customer Name drop down menu. |
Part Access Control
Control the access from users with options in this menu.
Internal Programs | Programs selected will allow only users with those programs added to their UserID to access the part. Use the "Select All" checkbox to users in all programs to access this part. |
Divisions | Divisions selected will allow only users with those divisions added to their UserID to access the part. Use the "Select All" checkbox to users in all divisions to access this part. |
Jurisdiction | Export control jurisdiction of part |
Classification |
Export control classification of part |
APQP/PPAP Document Control |
Programs selected will allow only users with those programs added to their UserID to access the part when clicking a PPAPD link either from the PPAPD module or in an APQP/PPAP package checklist. Use the "Select All" checkbox to users in all programs to access this part. |
Part Workflows
E-Rejection Tag Workflow | The workflow that will be assigned to a rejection tag created for the part record. |
FAIR Workflow | The workflow that will be assigned to a FAIR created for the part record. |
Documents and Photos
Two options are available to upload documents or photos for a part:
1. Select the "Select Files" button to open up a browser to choose a file.
2. Drag and drop a file from a file folder to the blue shaded region from a file explorer on your PC.
