Transferring an Inspection Plan to a Supplier using the FAIR Module
CUSTOMER Directions:
- Create a FAIR for the part you want the supplier to inspect.
- Review Form 3 of the FAIR to ensure all features that need inspection are listed on Form 3.

It is recommend that you indicate Key Features on Form 3 for the supplier to provide inspections. This is a checkbox on the Char. # column:
- Once you have reviewed the Requirements on Form 3, you will copy the FAIR to the suppliers account.

Click the COPY/DELTA FAIR button in the top left of your FAIR.

Copy the FAIR to a supplier account:

Select the supplier you are copying to, a representative to be notified (optional). Ensure you copy the characteristics on Form 3 and the documents, if all attached documents are relevant (such as a ballooned drawing that maps form 3 to the features). Hit the COPY FAIR button.
Note, there is a Copy Log in Net-Inspect under Settings > System Reports > Copy Log. It shows where FAIRs were copied to, and has a dropdown option on the far right of the table to void a FAIR if the supplier has not yet updated it.
SUPPLIER Directions:
9. The supplier will open the FAIR in FAI > View Internal
10. Navigate to Form 3. We are going to create an inspection plan from Form 3. This 3 minute video also covers these directions: Generating an Inspection Plan from Form 3
11. Select the UPDATE INSPECTION PLAN button. Ok on the modal. Then VIEW INSPECTION PLAN.
12. By default, all features will come over to the inspection plan. Select the key features by filtering this column. Select all key features on the left selection box and use the BULK UPDATE button to update the "Operation Number" and "Sampling Plan" fields. It is recommend to use a Key Feature Operation and a customer specified sampling plan. This completes the inspection plan creation step. See our BULK UPDATE article for more.
13. In Machines > View and Add Machines, ADD MACHINE. You only need to enter a machine name. This is intended to be the machine that the part was manufactured on. You are now setup to enter inspection data.
14. Go to Quality Management > Record Measurements and Start a New Run / Job for this part:
15. Enter results on the measurement entry page:
