Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Q: Who can create requests?
A: Both customers and suppliers can create requests, provided they have the appropriate user roles. See this article for more information.
Q: What's the difference between "Create for Customer" and "Create for Supplier"?
A: This means you are either listing your company as the supplier (when creating for customer) or as the customer (when creating for supplier).
Q: Can I edit a request after creating it?
A: Requests can be modified by suppliers until it is submitted. After that point, the record must be returned to the supplier by the customer (and the status becomes "Requesting Info"). Customers have access to modify the record until the "Lock Disposition and Discrepancy" details is toggled or the record becomes closed or void status.
Q: Who receives notifications for requests?
A: The designated Customer Representative and Supplier Representative will receive all email notifications related to the request's progress and status changes. Other notifications will send to either the customer or the supplier depending on the status or requirement. See this article for more information and scroll down to the Requests section.
Access and Permissions
Q: Why can't I create a Request record?
A: There may be several reasons why:
- You need specific user roles to create requests. Contact your system administrator to verify and assign the appropriate Request roles to your user profile.
- If you are unable to select any programs or divisions, your system administrator may need to setup your profile more completely. Alternatively, your system administrator or your customer may need to modify their part access control.
- Your company or your customer may not have the Requests subscription. Please contact sales@net-inspect.com to request a quote.
- You or your customer (whoever has the subscription) may need to complete their Requests setup.
