Aligning Users With Programs/Licenses
Programs
Program alignment control access to part information. Users must be aligned to customer programs to have appropriate access. Enter the customer for your FAIR first then enter a part number and if no programs are available, you may need additional programs aligned to your user profile.
Your account's Super and Setup Administrators can align users with the Programs necessary for creating and opening FAIRs and other documents. Look up your super or setup administrator with these directions.
1. Go to Settings (Gear icon) > User Management
Note that if you are unsure who your account's Super and Setup Administrators are, you can use the "User Types" column on this page to find them.
2. Locate and select a user
3. Select the Alignments tab
4. Click in the open area to the right within the textbox below a customer name to open a drop-down menu containing that customer's Programs.
5. Select any necessary programs OR click the "Select All XX" checkbox to the right of the customer name to select all programs for that customer.
You can also click the "SELECT ALL" button in the top-right of the page to align all programs for all customers to the user.
Alignments are automatically saved when they are aligned with a user.
6. Click the "Return to List" button in the top-right of the page to return to the user list. Repeat steps 2 - 6 for other users in the account as needed.
If you are still unable to access a Customer's programs after these steps have been completed, then the selected Customer may have configured their part record improperly. In this case, check your Part Number to ensure that it has been entered correctly, and then contact your customer to confirm that their part record has been set up appropriately.
Licenses
Licenses are a special type of Program that can be assigned to your company's suppliers. If a License is assigned to a supplier, then a user aligned with the same License can view any of that supplier's data (e.g., FAIRs, inspection plans, etc.).
Licenses only provide access to data assigned to your company by your suppliers. Licenses cannot provide access to data created by your company and submitted internally, or to a customer.
A user can open supplier data if they have access to either the supplier's License, or to a Program assigned to that piece of data. The user does not need access to both the License and the Program.
A Super or Setup Administrator can align users with a License by following these steps.
1. Go to Settings (Gear icon) > User Management
Note that if you are unsure who your account's Super and Setup Administrators are, you can use the "User Types" column on this page to find them.
2. Locate and select a user
3. Select the Alignments tab
4. Select the Licenses menu
5. Click in the open area to the right within the textbox to open a drop-down menu containing your company's Licenses
6. Select any necessary Licenses. These will be automatically saved when they are aligned with a user.
7. Click the "Return to List" button in the top-right of the page to return to the user list. Repeat steps 2 - 6 for other users in the account as needed.
