Submitting a FAIR
The Reviewed By field contains the approval signature of a person from the organization that reviewed and approved the FAIR. Providing this signature submits the FAIR to the Customer indicated on the FAIR.
A FAIR can be finished by clicking its Submit button, located near Field 21 and at the top-right of Form 1. This button becomes available after a Signature is provided on Form 1 (Field 19).
Submitted FAIRs can no longer be edited by the supplier, but can be reviewed and bought off by the FAIR’s customer. The FAIR will remain locked unless the customer chooses to disapprove it, which reopens the FAIR for editing by the supplier.
If the selected Customer does not have FAIR buy-off enabled, then a Close button will appear in place of the Submit button. This button is also used to sign Field 21, but once it is used, the FAIR will be locked against all further edits and cannot be signed by the customer.
In order to sign Field 19 and prepare the FAIR for closure or submission,
- One or more Results must be provided for all reportable characteristics entered on Form 3
- The FAIR’s Workflow must be completed, if present
- The FAIR’s Checklist must be completed, if present
- All mandatory fields must be completed on Forms 1, 2, and 3
