API User

When publishing data to your Net-Inspect account from an external application, you will normally be required to provide a set of Net-Inspect credentials. In cases where it isn't possible or desirable to set up Net-Inspect User IDs for the person or people who are uploading data, you can instead create a generic Net-Inspect User ID and mark the API User option on the user's Applications menu. If the API User option is enabled, data can be uploaded with this user's credentials, but no one can log in to Net-Inspect as that user.

Enabling the API User setting is advised when:

• Multiple employees need to publish data to your company's Net-Inspect account, but it isn't feasible to provide them with separate Net-Inspect User IDs
• Data needs to be uploaded to your account by a non-employee
