Disable Automatic Serial Numbering On Measurement Entry

This functionality is intended to ensure operators are entering correct serial numbers for each part in a measurement. This will eliminate the ability to use the Net-Inspect automatic serial numbering system and require operators to manually enter in a serial number for each part on the measurement entry page. 

Enabling this will ensure that operators do not use the automatic serial numbering system when parts may not be measured in order by serial number. 

This functionality is found in Settings > Company Setup > Quality Management Setup > Inspection Preferences: 



Enabling this functionality will effect serialized parts:

2. For this sample part, the measurement entry page will no longer prompt to auto number the serial number:



3. On the measurement entry page, the AUTO serial button is removed to prevent an operator from automatically filling out the serial numbers in sequential order. Operators are still required to enter serial numbers before entering in measurements.
