Form 1: Index of Part Numbers
The Index of Part Numbers section of Form 1 (Fields 15-18) is used to enter part numbers included in the assembly and items on the Bill of Materials included in the drawing, DPD, or next-level assembly. These items should consist of any part numbers, standard catalogue items, or sub-assembly numbers required to complete the product noted in Field 1.
If a Part Number is entered in Field 15 which matches the Part Number (Field 1) of a FAIR created in Net-Inspect by your company or one of your suppliers, then a hyperlink to that FAIR can be created in Field 18. Multiple levels of assembly and detail FAIRs can be linked in this manner, thus making FAIR data for the entire assembly available to the OEM.
Any supplier FAIR that lists your company in its Customer field can be linked in this fashion. To link to a FAIR created by your own company, that FAIR must either
- Have your own company listed as its Customer, or
- Have the same Customer as the assembly FAIR
You can also select a supplier's FAIR from this list if it exists in Net-Inspect, but only if your company is listed as the FAIR's Customer on Form 1.
The Supplier field should be used to enter the name of the supplier from whom your company received the Part Number. (If the part's FAIR was created in your account, then your own company name should be entered in this field.)
A FAIR can only be hyperlinked if the supplier name entered in this field precisely matches the supplier's Net-Inspect account name.
The Link FAIRs button, located in the top-right of the Index of Part Numbers section, can be used to find matching Net-Inspect FAIRs for all of the part numbers entered in Field 15. This is particularly useful after uploading a list of part numbers for an Assembly FAIR without providing any Supplier or FAIR Number data.
