QM: Importing Causes

Navigation Path: Gear Icon > Company Setup > Quality Management Setup > Cause and Corrective Actions > IMPORT Button

The Import function provides a streamlined method for bulk uploading Causes, Corrective Actions, and Subcauses. You will need the Setup Administrator role to access and use the import functionality by default. 

Overview

The import feature enables administrators to:

• Add multiple new entries simultaneously using standardized Excel templates
• Update module availability settings for existing entries in bulk
• Import personalized or standard root causes, corrective actions, and subcauses
• Maintain consistent data formatting and structure across the organization

 

Import Functionality

Import

Click the "IMPORT" button to access import functionality. 

Template Options:

• BLANK TEMPLATE: Empty Excel template for adding custom defect types
• STANDARD TEMPLATE: Pre-populated template with standard aerospace causes, corrective actions, and subcauses
  • This list can be customized according to your organizations needs
• Template Requirements:
  • Must use the exact format provided by Net-Inspect
  • File must be saved as .xlsx format
  • All columns must be completed on each sheet

Import Process:

1. Download the appropriate template using the "DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE" dropdown
2. Complete the Excel template
3. Save the file as .xlsx format
4. Click "SELECT FILES..." to upload your completed template
5. The system will validate and import each item. If any errors occur, then these will be shown on the screen and can be corrected on the template before trying again.
