Product Type

Customers can set up product types to align their parts with their internal categorization for analytics/ search retrieval purposes.  Parts can be classified by Prime product type as well as two defining Attributes.  These are displayed on APQP/PPAP packages (and their associated list pages) and on part records (and their associated list pages).  Product types can be exported into an excel file.

Accessing the Product Type Table

Navigate to Company Setup > Quality Management Setup tab > Product Types.

To add a new product type:

1. Select "+ ADD PRODUCT TYPE"
2. Type in a name
3. Select the "Prime/Attribute" drop down and pick between "Prime", "Attribute" and "Prime + Attribute"
   1. Prime is a top level category
   2. Attribute can be used as a second and third tier category
4. Click the save icon (a green checkmark)
