How to use the EXCEL Template by sheet:
Tool Types
On this sheet, you will populate a list of tool types that are not yet in the account. The above are sample tool types for this list. Every tool is aligned to a tool type. These tool types can then be managed in your company setup: https://www.net-inspect.com/admin/setup/machines/tooltypes.
Tools
On this sheet you will populate your list of tools for import. Only bold fields are required.
- Tool Type - Must match existing tool types in your account or new tool types in the 'Tool Types' sheet
- Tool ID - Unique identifier (usually on your tool label)
- Serial Number - Optional freeform field
- Model Number - Optional freeform field
- Tool Status - Use dropdown arrow to select pre-configured options
- Calibration Frequency Type - Required, use dropdown arrow to select pre-configured options
- Calibration Frequency Value - Required.
- Next Calibration Date - Required. (MM/DD/YYYY) Set a far date if the tool does not need calibration, no higher than 01/01/2050
- Tool Output - Must be one of the following: Analog, Dial, Digital, GoNoGo, Other, SPC, Vernier
- Custodian - Free form and optional
- Manufacturer - Free form and optional
- Work Center - Matching work centers created in your company setup (https://www.net-inspect.com/Admin/Setup/general/workcenters)
- Owner - 'Company' OR 'Employee Owner'
- Owner Name - ONLY fill out if owner is 'Employee.' Employee must be a userID within the Net-Inspect account
- Tool Cost - Free form amount
- Description - Optional, great place to add additional data
- Calibration Location - Refers to Calibration Location, only two options 'Internal' OR 'External'
- Calibration Agency - Free form OR match to supplier, only if calibration location is 'External'
- Calibration PO Number - Optional, only if calibration location is 'External'
- Calibration Comments - Optional, only if calibration location is 'External'
- Comments - Optional
Tool Features
This sheet is used to populate checks for tool calibration. If you calibrate tools in-house, you may want to add features such as:
- 1" Gage Block Test (1+/- .001)
- 2" Gage Block Test (2 +/- .001)
- etc.
If the tool is calibrated externally, you may want to add a single feature for all externally calibrated tools.
- Confirm the tool was calibrated and upload calibration certificate.
The calibration page allow for uploading of files on every calibration. Those are retained within the Tool page under the documents tab.
If you don't upload these features when uploading the tool itself, the Tool Features can be uploaded after your initial tool list is loaded.
Feature Number | The feature number must be a numeric value. Required. |
Measurement Type | Identifies the measurement type. Can be modified if no measurements have been taken on the feature. |
Feature Description | Description of the tool feature |
Nominal | Nominal tolerance of the feature. Can be modified if no measurements have been taken on the feature. |
High Tolerance | Upper tolerance of the feature. Must be zero or a positive value. Can be modified if no measurements have been taken on the feature. |
Low Tolerance | Lower tolerance of the feature. Must be zero or a negative value. Can be modified if no measurements have been taken on the feature |
NIST Number | NIST test report number |
Comments | Additional comments on the tool feature. |
Setup Date | Date the feature was created |
Calibration Measurements
This sheet is for entering measurement data for tool features. It can be used to updated multiple tools at one time. This feature is recommended for passing measurements only as the tool status will be updated to "In Service" with the next calibration date updated to the next calibration period.
